05 - Gods & ReligionThe Pantheon

The Pantheon

Nine gods currently occupy the pantheon: one original god, six raised during the Fall of the Age of Wonders, and two raised at the end of the Under the Bus campaign.

All eight of the "new gods" ultimately owe their ascension to the power of the Five Gifts — mortal artifacts of god-like power created by Demmazon during the Korvak War.

Alignment Structure

The pantheon deliberately forms a complete alignment-wheel distribution around Demmazon. Each of the eight non-neutral alignments is represented exactly once, while Demmazon occupies true Neutral.

Ascension Order and Gift Provenance

GodRaised ByGift Used
CorreriesSelf (absorbed)Red Gift (Alantarin's, Protection)
MagerrisSelf (absorbed)White Gift (Vestal Stone's, no specialization)
Milaynee & UlantharCorreries (split one Gift)Blue Gift (Salendaius', Conjuration)
Krom & TarmikosMagerris (split one Gift)Yellow Gift (Kjeldin's, Evocation)
Thorn Runehammer (God) & Orin-KelThorn (split his own Gift)Green Gift (Thorn's own, Transmutation)

All five Gifts are accounted for with none left over — see 06 - Artifacts/The Five Gifts for the full breakdown, including how each Gift moved through Alantarin's temple, Zaraleth's theft, and the Heroes of Aegea before reaching its final bearer(s). Confirmed directly by the author when finalizing the campaign's ending (2026 retcon session).

Key Unresolved / Non-Canon Threads

  • The original plan to tie each god's portfolio to their Gift's magic school (e.g., Thorn/Deception) was abandoned by the author. Gift specializations do not carry over to a god's domains. Noted here so it isn't mistakenly reintroduced later.

  • Demmazon's alignment is settled as true Neutral according to the author's canon table, even though ancient Church of Demmazon doctrine insists that he is wholly benevolent. This is an intentional in-world gap between official doctrine and objective fact, not an unresolved question.
