Krom

Overview

Captain Theradous Krom was the commander of the Aegean military and leader of the Heroes of Aegea, an elite adventuring team that served the city of Aegea directly.

Krom became a god during the final struggle against Correries. When Magerris found himself facing Correries and the newly ascended Milaynee and Ulanthar, Magerris used the Yellow Gift to raise Krom and Tarmikos to godhood, dividing its power between them.

The prophecy of Pythia the Mad Prophet associates Krom with the words "war shall be their shadow."

Mortal Life

Before his ascension, Krom commanded the Heroes of Aegea, an elite adventuring team that operated directly under the authority of the city of Aegea.

The Heroes played a central role in uncovering the activities of Correries and in the events surrounding the imprisonment and eventual liberation of Demmazon.

Krom later became commander of the Aegean military.

Title

Campaign sources refer to Krom as both Captain Theradous Krom and Commander Theradous Krom, as well as describing him as the commander of the Aegean military.

These appear to refer to the same individual. The difference in title should not be treated as evidence of two different characters.

The Heroes of Aegea

Krom led the Heroes of Aegea during the crisis surrounding Correries and the unraveling of the world.

Among their accomplishments were uncovering Correries' activities and participating in the events that ultimately freed Demmazon from his imprisonment.

The Heroes also played a critical role in the struggle over the Five Gifts, including recovering the Yellow Gift after Zaraleth stole it from Alantarin the Wise.

Ascension

As Correries' power grew, the conflict eventually reached the city of Rictaria.

By this point, Correries had become a god and had raised Milaynee and Ulanthar to godhood.

Magerris was therefore faced by three newly ascended gods:

To even the odds, Magerris used the recovered Yellow Gift to raise his two closest allies, Krom and Tarmikos, to godhood.

Magerris divided the power of the Yellow Gift between them, resulting in the ascension of both Krom and Tarmikos.

Krom thus became a god during the climactic conflict against Correries.

The Battle of Rictaria

Krom's ascension occurred during the climactic struggle centered on Rictaria.

The conflict ultimately destroyed the city and was responsible for the creation of Godsmount.

Krom emerged from the battle as one of the newly ascended gods.

The Separation of the Realms

Following the rise of the new gods, Demmazon lured them into his home realm.

Demmazon then separated his realm from the mortal world, imprisoning the newly ascended gods there.

Krom remains imprisoned in Demmazon's separated realm.
